Channel buy-one-get-one orders list only the paid SKU. At the warehouse, gifts are out of stock or the container will not fit. Gifts are materials: SKU, inventory, cube, pick labor. Planning must bind gifts to the same promo calendar as paid goods—no gift means no fulfillment. Treat as air and promos blow up at the loading dock.
Finance can zero-price them. Warehousing cannot zero-volume. Zero-volume planning hides cost in same-day overtime.
Promo Equals Demand
Promo orders generate gift demand and reserve available stock. Over available—cut gift or change offer; no oversell. Waves pick paid and gift together—no hunting gifts at the dock.
- Gift safety stock by promo lead time.
- Return rules include whether gifts come back.
- Freight estimates include gift cube.

Gifts in the Same Plan Book
The XYN digital intelligence system writes gift demand into sales and warehouse plans. Channel promos can be loud—fulfillment must count the noise in tons and pieces. Count it in and buy-one-get-one is strategy; count it out and it is an emergency ticket.
Check the next promo—are gifts reserved in inventory and capacity? If not, fix planning before customer promises.
