Booth quote given; customer orders two weeks later at the old price—freight up, FX moved. Validity printed as "two weeks" with no auto-expiry lets stale quotes become loss contracts. System should expire quotes on date, FX threshold, or freight index breach—orders must re-price. Shows can be fast; effectiveness cannot be boundless.
Verbal "about the same price" is the most expensive discount.
Expiry Must Be Automatic
Quotes carry currency, incoterms, freight version. Any trigger: expired, FX deviation, lane freight change. Expired quotes cannot convert—copy as new quote only. Batch show quotes use one policy—no personal validity rules.
- Customer insists on old price—special approval with loss calculation shown.
- Sample vs bulk prices separate validity.
- Expiry notices to customers reduce "you changed your mind" disputes.

Fast Quotes Must Be Voidable
The XYN digital intelligence system binds quote status to FX and freight conditions—even show quotes stay controlled. Validity is risk control, not unfriendly service. "Friendly" old prices get eaten by freight and FX in margin.
Scan open external quotes—expire overdue immediately. If you cannot list them, validity still lives only in the footer.
