Trial runs squeeze onto mass lines under the same work order number—complaints cannot tell whether that lot used trial parameters. Mixed lines are fine; mixed types are not. Trial and mass must be different work order types: temporary routes allowed for trial, material isolated, nonconformance closes as trial conclusion—not mixed into one final inspection. Unclear types mean messy traceability and quality stats skewed by trial.
Mixing lines is a capacity question. Mixing types is governance—you cannot skip governance.
Type Sets the Rules
Trial orders may use temporary routes; output does not enter official piece counts or uses a separate account. Trial material is tagged—no undocumented return to mass stock. Mass orders must not reference unfrozen trial parameters. Shared equipment requires line-clearance records.
- Force number ranges or type fields—no "note says trial" in remarks.
- Cannot convert to mass order until trial conclusion closes.
- Trace queries filter by type—complaints exclude trial lots first.

Separate Types to Mix Lines
The XYN digital intelligence system switches rules and isolation by work order type—mixed-line scheduling still works. With types separated, traceability, piece counts, and complaints stay clear. Unclear mixed lines save changeovers and buy one incident.
Check this week for orders remark "trial" but typed as mass. Fix types before optimizing scheduling.
